OUR MISSION

Curtains Up! Belmont (CUBU) is a student-led club for the production and enjoyment of theatre at Belmont University in Nashville TN. While enabling on- and off-stage theatre opportunities, CUBU also provides a community for all theatre lovers regardless of major. CUBU puts on several student-led productions each semester involving club members interested in musical theatre, theatre, and theatre tech. Although these productions are not mandatory for membership they are a defining characteristic of the club (the only requirement for CUBU membership is to pay your dues of $15). On top of productions, CUBU holds meetings each Wednesday night where members take part in a variety of theatre-related activities and educational experiences. OUR STORY

Curtains Up! Belmont (CUBU) is a student-run theatre club dedicated to developing a community at Belmont University. It does so by creating an inclusive environment to celebrate theatre and musical theatre, giving opportunities for students to engage in on-and off-stage experiences, and providing quality productions for Belmont students by Belmont students. Founded in August 2022 by Nora Jones and Nick Benefield, CUBU has continued to put on at least one show per semester and has weekly theatre-related meetings like masterclasses, movie musical viewings, choreography nights, and more.
